Watch Levi do Backflips Everywhere!

Levi is halfway to his goal of raising $3000 towards our outreach work entirely through backflipping for every donation earned through his site (small and large). The cool thing is that he does them instantly no matter where he is :) Take a look!

The Backflips for Kids fundraiser is doing great and we’re halfway to the goal. To inspire more people to donate, I created this new video of myself doing backflips just about everywhere; an orthodontics office, on top of a mountain, at a bar, in France and more! Check out the video then go here and make me do a backflip right now!

City Chase Media

A great day of challenge for many unsuspecting participants of City Chase Seattle today. We were invited to contribute a station, so we built a “floor is lava” course through a section of Freeway Park, having teams of two utilize controlled descents, climbs, and quadrupedie to reach their goal. Over one hundred people successfully navigated the abrasive concrete without injury, helping each other in good spirits and with admirable determination–and with plenty of true-felt encouragement from our energetic volunteer coaches. It was truly inspiring to see so many of varying age (from early twenties to sixty) and athleticism (triathletes and stay-at-home moms) tear the course apart–and it was certainly no easy feat! Congratulations to all who came through; those scrapes and bruises are well earned.

Special thanks to Brian, Cory, Kelly, and Matt for excellent work guiding and supporting participants; we couldn’t have done it without you!

Parkour obstacle challenge at Seattle’s City Chase

Here's an interesting one: Tomorrow all day some few hundred people will be crawling, jumping, and climbing through a portion of Freeway Park downtown in a giant game of omg-the-floor-is-lava! We're laying down the challenge as a part of City Chase Seattle <http://www.citychaseusa.com/about/> where competitors have a series of crazy challenges spread out all throughout the city that they have to complete for charity.

If you're in the event or want to check out the challenge, stop by the park to find us and say hello!

Parkour playground on Madison chosen as finalist in plan to activate Seattle empty spaces | CHS Capitol Hill Seattle

Not long ago, it was a rare thing to find a city park with a climbing wall. In a similar fashion, a planned Capitol Hill park could be one of the first to be built specifically for freerunners to jump and climb up curbs, over tables and across walls.

ParkOurPark,” the brainchild of local non-profit Parkour Visions, was one of the 13 finalists selected in the city-wide Holding Patterns Initiative, led by the Seattle Design Commission. SDC developed Holding Patterns in response to growing concern over the growing number of abandoned or unused lots across the city, and sent an open call out into the community for creative solutions to activate those empty spaces.

We were recently moved through to the second round of the Holding Patterns Initiative and are starting to get some press about it! It’s sure to stir up some good discussions so please add your thoughts before we move to the next stage on the 20th.

Fun fast route

Colin came up with this really cool route at open gym that I wanted to share. We only got a bit of video of peoples’ first few tries but the route is the real star – really fun!

Cool! A previous student of ours has placed us on Yelp and wrote the first review. The page looks pretty bare and lonely though – head to http://www.yelp.com/biz/parkour-visions-seattle and…yelp stuff!
